The Mesa Grill is an interesting place. You can go there for a business dinner or a romantic evenin. They also have very nice decor. You can sit in a private setting or they will accommodate a large crowd (but I would call in a reservation).
I started with the Roasted Corn Soup with Crispy Okra, which was very very creamy. The Blue Corn-Crusted Red Snapper with Warm Tomato Relish was excellent. For dessert, I had the Roasted Peach Cheesecake with Gingersnap Crust as well as coffee.
There is no rush to leave - we had great seating at the window and enjoyed watching NY go by. Another plus is two parking garages just right around the corner.

The Mesa Grill provided a welcome respite from the torrential downpour. As soon as we walked in, we were welcomed by 3 women with friendly faces. We weren't seated immediately, but instead were asked to wait. Since we had arrived early I didn't mind the wait. It gave me time to drink in the interiors. The theme was fiery - with bold colors splashed on the walls, invoking passion and excitement. The restaurant was quite spacious, with ample room between tables which afforded a bit of privacy. It was comfortable inside, with interesting-looking ceiling fans providing a bit of a breeze.
We sat by the window, which I feel is the best spot in the house. You get a good look at everything around you and still manage to go people-watching on the streets.
The food was excellent. We started with a bread basket that was uniquely different - there were 3 kinds: rosemary bread, jalapeno bread, and blue corn bread.I started with the Fry Bread Taquitos - a bit on the spicy side, but I loved it! I didnít like the Cornmeal Crusted Chile Relleno I ordered for the main course, but that was my mistake. I didnít read the description that closely and didnít realize I was getting a pepper stuffed with eggplant (which is definitely my least favorite vegetable). I enjoyed my husbandís red snapper though!I topped it off with a Chocolate Cherry Layer Cake, which was delicious.
The staff was very attentive. People all around us were carrying on conversations, but it didnít feel intrusive at all.
All in all, this Bobby Flay-owned restaurant was a great experience Iíll definitely want to repeat!
